Apple confirmed the event itself on August 26: September 9, 'Surprise and shine.' The two best-sourced Apple reporters both say the foldable leads it. Gurman calls it the main attraction and on track for a September unveiling; Kuo has 2H 2026 mass production at a $2,000-2,500 price, 3-5M units in 2026. 80%, not higher, because the residual risk is real and specific: Apple could tease the device without naming it (the Vision Pro pattern, announced off-cycle at WWDC), or hold it for a later event despite the supply chain being ready.
